Leigh Potters tableware was sold in "five and dime" stores around the country.

Description

Concentric circles give this design its streamlined look and place it firmly within the Machine Age style of the 1930s. Leigh Potters produced sophisticated designs for the modern table that were inexpensive and affordable even during the height of the Great Depression.
A cream-colored earthenware vessel stacks in four horizontal, bulging ridges that taper toward a narrow base. Scalloped handles, accented in gold, curve from the sides, while a thin gold line traces the rim. A dense network of fine, web-like cracks laces across the glossy surface. The broad, rounded tiers encircle the body, creating a stepped profile that widens as it rises toward the mouth.
