Leigh Potters tableware was sold in "five and dime" stores around the country.

Description

Concentric circles give this design its streamlined look and place it firmly within the Machine Age style of the 1930s. Leigh Potters produced sophisticated designs for the modern table that were inexpensive and affordable even during the height of the Great Depression.
A circular white earthenware lid features three concentric, tiered levels rising toward a central handle shaped like a four-pointed cross with sloping sides and a gilded top. Thin gold lines trace the outer rim and the edge of each tier. The creamy white surface has a glossy finish and is covered in a fine network of tiny cracks.
