Description

Tabard combineS dramatic shadows and multiple shots to simultaneously present the dancers’ physical expressiveness and provide insight into their inner life as they dance. Modern dance, a flourishing, influential art form in Europe in the 1920s and 1930s, attracted numerous avant-garde photographers who took advantage of the new, smaller, more mobile 35 mm cameras and faster film speeds to try to evoke a sense of the performance.
