Did You Know?

The beads on this sculpture were imported, likely from Venice or Bohemia (now called the Czech Republic).
A wood sculpture, covered in glass beads, depicts a standing female figure. Strands of blue and black beads cover her body in a checkered pattern. Her rounded head features maroon beads with white shells for eyes, an open mouth, and a blue beaded crest. Her arms hang straight, ending in red hands. Pointed breasts extend from her chest, and her thick, columnar legs end in red and blue feet.
