Description

This coffee pot is decorated with a plaque that depicts the ancient myth of the Birth of Venus.
A white porcelain coffee pot features a cylindrical body, curved spout, and looped handle. A central scene within an oval relief depicts a nude woman standing on a platform held aloft by a merman. Two birds fly beside the figures. The vessel is topped by a flat lid with a circular knob and sits on a low, recessed base. The uniform white glaze emphasizes the fine detail of the relief.
