An octagonal agate and gold snuff box features a translucent amber-colored stone top with dark brown, irregular patches. Polished yellow gold bands frame the stone and form the body, detailed with repeating floral patterns and relief carvings of swans among foliage. A thin seam around the center indicates the hinged lid. The box's metallic surfaces reflect a rich sheen against the cloudy depth of the stone.
