A chalcedony snuff box depicts a reclining bull, the pale gray stone polished to a sheen and speckled with natural brown veining. Facing our right, its legs are tucked beneath its body while two short horns curve upward and small, bright red rubies form the eyes. The stone rests on a rounded gold base with a thin horizontal seam.
