Did You Know?

Green Wheat, created by Paris-trained American industrial designer Gale Turnbull, became one of the most popular patterns produced by Leigh Potters.

Description

Leigh Potters produced sophisticated yet inexpensive tableware for the American consumer from the mid-1920s until 1931.
A cream ceramic bowl features a square outer rim with stepped corners and a circular central well. The surface is covered in a fine network of thin cracks and trimmed with a silver edge. On the left, four green wheat stalks of varying heights rise from the rim. These stalks consist of pointed leaf-like shapes arranged along thin vertical stems, staggered in height toward the center of the bowl.
