Description

This mola reinterprets the film poster for Matilda, a 1978 movie about a boxing kangaroo. All the key elements are present, from the star marsupial to her four supporting actors and even the laces on one of her gloves. On the reverse, Siabibi may refer to a local tour company run by outsiders. The relationship between the front and back panels remains a mystery.
A t-shaped cotton and synthetic blouse features a central rectangular panel of layered red stitching. Within a yellow circle, a four-legged animal faces left, surrounded by smaller stylized human and animal figures amidst multicolored triangles. Above, bright yellow fabric patterned with green birds forms the bodice and puffed sleeves. A ruffled purple fabric with vibrant pink and orange floral designs borders the bottom edge.
