Description

Entitled Chasse, Chiens, meaning hunt, dogs, this glass plate's gilded decoration of dogs and birds is intended to evoke the hunt. Six hunting dogs encircle the center of the plate, while game birds trim the perimeter.
A circular transparent glass plate features intricate gold-toned decorations. In the center, six textured dogs in profile form three mirrored pairs within a triangular composition of stylized leaves. The pairs radiate outward from the middle, their bodies displaying fine, fur-like textures. A dense border of winding vines and leaves follows the rim. The clear glass highlights the delicate gold patterns, which appear to float against the transparent background.
