Description

The front has a bust of Artemis, a diadem circling her head and a quiver over her shoulder. On the reverse is Apollo Delphios holding a laurel branch, standing on a meander pattern, and leaning his left elbow on a tripod, all within a laurel wreath. Magnesia is located southeast of Ephesus on a tributary of the Meander River.
An irregularly circular silver coin depicts a profile head facing right. Thick, wavy hair cascades in curls down the neck, secured by a thin band. The face features a large eye, a straight nose, and a slightly open mouth. Behind the neck, a strap and quiver rest over the shoulder. Dark patina fills the metal's deep crevices, highlighting fine details against the worn, silver surface.
