Description

A friend and biographer of Whistler, Joseph Pennell produced hundreds of drawings, prints and illustrations in a Whistlerian style. Many of them were used to illustrate magazine articles or books on travel by figures such as Henry James (1843-1916). This drawing was used to illustrate the book New New York by John C. Van Dyke, published in 1909.
