One Year of Gallery One: Live Twitter Q&A on January 30
One year ago this month, Gallery One, the Cleveland Museum of Art's innovative gallery blending art, technology, and interpretation, opened to the public! If you haven't experienced it before, the gallery offers a chance to see real works of art from the museum’s collection, including masterpieces by Pablo Picasso, Auguste Rodin, Viktor Schreckengost, Giovanni Panini, and Chuck Close. Hands-on and technology-based activities give you the chance to explore these works of art like never before, and learn how works of art are made, where they come from, and why they are produced. In addition, through a blend of technology and design, this revolutionary space also features the largest multi-touch microtile screen in the United States, which displays images of more 3,500 objects from the museum’s world-renowned permanent collection. This 40-foot Collection Wall allows you to shape your own tours of the museum and to discover the full breadth of the collections on view throughout the museum’s galleries. You have to see it to believe it.
In honor of one year of Gallery One, we will be hosting a live Twitter Q&A on Thursday, January 30 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. EST, and invite you to share your thoughts and questions about Gallery One's technology and design, content and interpretation, and what we've learned along the way.
Joining us from the museum to answer your questions during the chat will be:
Jane Alexander, Chief Information Officer
Caroline Goeser, Director of Education and Interpretation
Elizabeth Bolander, Director of Communications and Research
To ask your questions in advance and during the chat, use hashtag #galleryonechat, and join us live for the answers!
