This Week at the CMA: MIX: Riff, New Centennial Loans On View, Second Sundays, & More

Check out these five must-attend events this week at the CMA!

 
This Fri, 5/6 from 5:00–10:00 p.m., MIX at CMA and Tri-C JazzFest Cleveland present MIX: Riff. Grab a drink and dance the night away to the swinging rhythms of acclaimed music ensemble Hot Club of Detroit. The evening will also include collection tours and swing dancing lessons from Get Hep Swing.
 
On view this Tues, 5/3, generously lent by the Allen Memorial Art Museum at Oberlin College, Onement IV is a canonical example of Newman’s work, featuring his characteristic format of areas of flat color interrupted by vertical bands.
 
Second Sundays: Faces of Cleveland

Enjoy Mother’s Day exploring the art of portraiture through art making and storytelling this Sunday at Second Sundays: Family Day at the CMA! From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., experience free art making activities and programs for all ages. Explore the museum through dance, music, and hands-on projects.
This Wed, 5/4, experience outstanding conservatory musicians from the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University playing mixed programs of chamber music amid the CMA's collection.

This Fri, 5/6, the Museum Store is holding a trunk show featuring the jewelry line Pono by Joan Goodman. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the designer and see her expanded line of jewelry.
