CMA's Ohio City Stages Is Back, 2016 Season Info

CMA's Ohio City Stages, is back for its fourth season! This free, global, music series presents many notable musical artists from around the world on a stage outside of the Transformer Station on West 29th St. Below is a sneak peek of what’s in store for the upcoming weeks:

Wednesday, July 6: Debo Band (Ethiopia)
7:30 p.m.
Get your dancing shoes ready for the music of Debo Band. This large ensemble is well known and praised for their groundbreaking take on Ethiopian pop music. Their unique sound, which incorporates traditional scales and vocal styles alongside soul and funk rhythms will definitely get you off your feet.

Wednesday, July 13: Lakou Mizik (Haiti)
7:30 p.m.
Lakou Mizik will not only tell their unique tales through music, but they will also warm your heart with their joyful melodies. The group is comprised of a diverse collection of musicians representing a cross section of generations, faiths and musical styles. Their upbeat sound communicates a message of pride, strength and hope for their home country of Haiti and the world. 

Wednesday, July 27: Innov Gnawa (Moroccan Blues)
7:30 p.m.
Ever wonder what “The Morocco Blues” sounds like? Find out when you listen to the unique and moving music of Innov Gnawa. Gnawa music is the ritual trance music of Morocco’s black communities, and it has a raw and hypnotic power that is sure to leave you entranced.
