The Ecstasy of St. Kara: Kara Walker, New Work Opens this Saturday
Sat, 9/10–Sat, 12/31 
This Saturday is the opening of the debut exhibition of Kara Walker’s new body of large-scale works on paper, organized by the CMA in close collaboration with the artist. Influenced in part by a recent residency at the American Academy in Rome, the exhibition is an extensive examination of how Walker envisions the rise and fall of society.

MIX at CMA: Mughal
Fri, 9/9
5:00–10:00 p.m.
Check out the centennial exhibition Art and Stories from Mughal India to see epic poems, myths, and romances painted in colorful detail. Plus, enjoy talks in the exhibition by curator Sonya Quintanilla, a pop-up restaurant featuring Indian-inspired dishes, and music, drinks, and Bollywood dancing.

Second Sundays: Day and Knights
Sun, 9/11 
Bring your family to the CMA every second Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to enjoy free art making activities and programs for all ages. This Sunday, spend the day exploring chivalrous arts and culture of Medieval and Renaissance Knights through storytelling, scavenger hunts, and art-making.

CMA at Transformer Station: Dan Graham/Rocks Open Now
Now–Sun, 12/4 
Open now at the Transformer Station, featuring his well-known video Rock My Religion in one of his large-scale pavilions, Dan Graham/Rocks highlights the intersection of rock music and suburban domesticity within his groundbreaking artwork.
New Centennial Loans
On View Now 
Seven centennial loans have been installed in CMA galleries Highlights include John Singer Sargent’s Portrait of Helen Sears, Vasily Kandinsky’s Improvisation No. 30 (Cannons), and two Tiffany & Co. necklaces.
