Art and Stories of Mughal Women

Join Sonya Rhie Quintanilla, the museum’s George P. Bickford Curator of Indian and Southeast Asian Art and Interim Curator of Islamic Art as she presents a lecture about the strength and power of women in the Mughal court. Hosted by the Womens Council of the Cleveland Museum of Art. 

Film: The Great Adventure

Beauty and cruelty coexist in this poetic, painstakingly photographed nature film in which two young Swedish farm boys interact with foxes, lynx, otters, and other wild animals over four seasons.

Throughout history, precious works of art have been used in worship. Radiant textiles embellished the high altar and clothed the clergy. This exhibition honors Mr. and Mrs. Jeptha H. Wade II, the museum’s visionary co-founder and president, who donated most of these European vestments of the 1600s and 1700s.
