Teachers! Learn how you can reach out to your students using art and story telling.
Northeast Ohio early childhood educators can help their students grow up great through the art of story telling in pictures, song, rhythm and acting by participating in Picture This: Story Telling and the Arts, a mini-conference at the Cleveland Museum of Art from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 1.
The mini-conference will feature noted children’s picture book author and illustrator Denise Fleming with a key note session, followed by educator-led sessions in the galleries of the museum on bringing everyday stories to life. Fleming’s books have received many awards for her colorful pulp paintings and lively prose, including the Caldecott Honor for In the Small, Small Pond.
The morning session at the museum is free to early childhood educators; however, tickets are required. To register, call 216-707-2182.
Picture This: Story Telling and the Arts is made possible with the support of PNC’s Grow Up Great, an early education investment program, in partnership with The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Cleveland Orchestra, Playhouse Square and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
