Back by popular demand, the museum’s opening up its store warehouse next week for a sale that’s become a favorite event among museum fans and bargain shoppers alike!
The annual shop warehouse sale starts on June 3 and continues through June 6, with doors open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The sale will feature a variety of items from our museum store inventory, including jewelry, books, exhibition catalogs, posters, prints, and themed apparel. Did you miss your opportunity to pick up a memento from one of our past exhibitions? Now’s your chance to get a piece of museum history at a great price.
New to this year's sale are items grouped by price point. Walk the aisles and find tasteful treasures at $3, $5, and $10. Think graduation gift, Father's Day gift, or just an "I'm ready to treat myself” gift.
Looking for new summer play clothes for the kids and grandkids? Now’s your chance to pick up children’s shirts from past exhibitions at a great price, with some as low as $3.
Catherine Surratt, director of auxiliary services at the museum, is looking forward to the sale for many reasons.
"It's a fun time of the year," says Surratt. "It's a great way to make room in our inventory for upcoming event and exhibition merchandise and meet some happy shoppers along the way."
If she were shopping, what would she buy for herself? "I'd pick up some of the soaps that we sold during the Paul Gauguin: Paris, 1889 exhibition. They are scented lavender and smell wonderful. I'm always a big fan of note cards. It’s a great way to send a note with an artful touch."
If you want the best selection and are willing to brave a little competition, you’ll want to plan to come early in the morning. If you prefer to have the place all to yourself, visit just after lunch to avoid the crowds.
The museum shop warehouse is located at 3635 Perkins Avenue in Cleveland. Directions can be found online.
