Today, the Cleveland Museum of Art voluntarily returned a 10th-century Cambodian stone sculpture of Hanuman to the Kingdom of Cambodia, and has since entered into a Memorandum of Understanding concerning cultural cooperation with the National Museum of Cambodia—the first such agreement between the National Museum and an American museum. This spring, the Cleveland Museum of Art along with the Cleveland Cinematheque join forces to present 14 films by the celebrated contemporary Taiwanese filmmaker Hou Hsiao-hsien.
