Artists have long been inspired the elegance, independence, curiosity, and comfort-seeking of domestic cats. A clowder of cats from the collection, prints that are rarely on view, offer a glimpse of artists’ relationships with cats as their muses and companions.
#MIXatCMA returns TONIGHT with MIX: Vino! Wine and the history of art are inextricably linked. Celebrate this millennia-old libation with tastings in the atrium, wine-themed tours of the collection, and a live performance of gypsy jazz music by Hot Djang!
The CMA's newly reinstalled contemporary art galleries are NOW OPEN. The galleries feature recent acquisitions on view for the first time, and rarely seen masterworks back on view such as "Lot's Wife" by Anselm Kiefer (picture number 3).
