Exhibition Features More Than 100 Paintings by Modern Masters
On Friday, September 25, The Womens Council's Annual Education Evening Program, “The Diplomacy of Art: How Art in Embassies Linked Cleveland with Bratislava” will take place at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium. This is a free event, open to the public beginning at 6:00 p.m. Art in Embassies, an office of the U.S. State Department, curated and mounted the Art in Embassies exhibition in the Bratislava residence of former U.S. Ambassador to Slovakia Theodore Sedgwick in 2011, at his request.
Cleveland, OH (September 16, 2015) Pictorialist Photography was the first concerted, widespread effort to release photography from the constraints of mechanical reproduction and elevate it to the status of fine art. Unique programming highlights this exhibition of American Pictorialist work and explores the themes of personal expression. Shadows and Dreams: Pictorialist Photography in America is on view in the Mark Schwartz and Bettina Katz Photography Gallery now through January 17, 2016.
CLEVELAND (Sept. 14, 2015) — The Cleveland Museum of Art will host the 26th Annual I Madonnari Chalk Festival on Saturday, September 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 20, from noon to 5:00 p.m., rain or shine. The Chalk Festival features street paintings by professional chalk artists and local community groups, families and individuals. Participants will have an opportunity to showcase their art on the museum’s south-side plaza and throughout the pathways, which wind through the Fine Arts Garden and down to Wade Lagoon.
Enjoy August’s hot summer nights on the museum’s gorgeous south terrace as you sip a refreshing cocktail, play global games in the grass and discover art with international flair on gallery tours.
As the sun goes down, groove to the irresistible rhythms of Todo Mundo. Todo Mundo, meaning “All the World”, is one of San Diego’s hottest bands, having been voted Best World Music band (2012-2014) at the San Diego Music Awards. Their irresistible rhythms blend the musical flavors of Spanish rumba and reggae with Brazilian, Balkan and Middle Eastern styles.
