The Cleveland Museum of Art is proud to be a community partner of Gay Games 9 and is pleased to host Night Before 9: Out in Art on Friday night, August 8.

The Cleveland Museum of Art presents Yoga: The Art of Transformation, the world’s first exhibition about yoga’s visual history. Visitors will be able to explore the transformation of yoga’s meanings and practice over time through 135 objects ranging from the 1st-century to the early 20th-century. The works include masterpieces of Indian painting and sculpture, as well as vintage photography and rare publications.
What do you get when you mix silk screening, scavenger hunts, 148 teenagers, and some of the world’s best masterpieces? A successful Teen Night at the Cleveland Museum of Art. On May 23rd, the museum’s own Teen CO-OP program hosted an event for high schoolers from the Cleveland area, and without a doubt, it was a hit.
Provenance at the Cleveland Museum of Art will debut a new look, feel and taste on Friday, June 6 during MIX: Fête.
In celebration of the Cleveland Foundation’s Centennial, the museum invited young visitors to become innovative painters. Instead of brushes, kids blew bubbles to make colorful paintings. The lively activity is easy to recreate at home. All you need is food coloring, dish soap, and a jar of bubbles.
The Cleveland Museum of Art presents Solstice, Cleveland’s hottest summer music festival, on Saturday, June 21 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Cleveland Museum of Art. A favorite Cleveland family tradition, the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Parade the Circle returns for the 25th year on Saturday, June 14 at noon. This annual art parade will fill Wade Oval with lively sounds and colors, featuring innovative costumes, giant puppets and handmade masks created by international and national artists as well as Greater Cleveland artists, families, schools and community groups.
The Cleveland Museum of Art presents Beijing: Contemporary and Imperial: Photographs by Lois Conner, an exhibition of 33 panoramic photographs that reveal the evolution of modern Beijing and its cultural landscapes. Using a 7-by-17-inch camera, Conner produces platinum and pigment ink prints that evoke Chinese scrolls and traditional landscape painting. The exhibition is on view from Sunday, March 30 to Sunday, June 29, 2014 in the photography gallery.
The Cleveland Museum of Art presents Treasures on Paper, an exhibition showcasing the museum’s esteemed collection of prints and drawings. Since its founding in 1916, the Cleveland Museum of Art has built its collection with an emphasis on the quality, rarity and significance of individual works. Treasures on Paper presents a unique opportunity to see more than 70 exceptional European and American works on paper in mediums ranging from engraving, woodcut and etching to chalk, pencil and watercolor, dating from the 15th through the 19th centuries.
