Connie Towson Ford Educators Academy

The Educators Academy is a resource for teachers of all grade levels and disciplines designed to introduce the methodology for developing lesson plans using an arts-integrated curriculum. The program offerings enable educators to use the museum collections to connect to the State of Ohio Academic Standards to enhance student achievement.


Summer 2009 Workshop


Igniting Student Success
August 4, 5, and 6, 2009
10:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Teachers of all grade levels are invited to participate in a dynamic three-day institute to become skilled at infusing art into core curricula and instruction. Discover teaching strategies and develop lesson plans with an art-centered, interdisciplinary approach to help foster student success. The sessions are taught by a variety of professionals and focus on visual literacy skills, use of technology, and hands-on projects—all tied together under the theme "America." Enliven your classroom with an arts-integrated approach to learning!

Educators Academy will rely even more on its members to continue to be ambassadors redesigning excellent workshops and providing  up to date resources we have always taken pride in offering. Please be sure to tell your friends and colleagues about the many special opportunities offered through the Educators Academy. We want your input. Expect a mailed survey asking for your opinions and feedback as the Educators Academy prepares to open its new space in the near future.

Consultations
Individual consultations for teachers preparing for class visits or a discussion of ideas for special projects are scheduled on request.

School Inservice Programs
Schools and school districts may request special in-service programs at the Museum designed to meet specific curriculum needs and faculty interests.
