Self-Guided Visits
Teachers may guide their own classes through the museum.
Visits are scheduled at 11:00 am or later Tuesday through Friday until closing; Saturday and Sunday 10:00-5:00 pm.
Self-guided groups are responsible for avoiding tours conducted by museum staff.
Avoid galleries that appear to be overcrowded, and those where there are groups with staff lecturers.
Self-guided groups must provide at least one adult for every ten students.
Adults are expected to remain with their students while in the museum and are responsible for the conduct of their students.
Please remember:
1. Do not touch the works of art.
2. Do not run or disturb other visitors.
3. Tours conducted by museum staff have priority for teaching in the galleries.
4. Use the right-hand side of the stairways.
Self-guided groups must provide at least one adult for every four students when in the museum stores. Adults are expected to remain with their students while in the stores.
If possible, please leave coats and other personal property on your bus, as the museum will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. Backpacks, radios, and cameras with flash are not permitted in the museum galleries.
