A rich calendar of annual festivals at the museum provides educational
opportunities for families, friends, and community groups. Festivals
and workshops are open to all ages, but children under 15 must be
accompanied by an adult. Studio
programs and giant puppets are often scheduled at selected community
events. For information about the following programs call

Circle of Masks Festival
Create masks, watch dance and theater performances, and join the grand finale with the help of musicians and choreographers. Scheduled in April to kick off the parade season.
Parade the Circle
A colorful and festive event held the second Saturday of every June that combines other cultural institutions from the University Circle area with public groups for a fabulously fun, "art-full" parade. Public workshops are offered in the weeks preceding the parade to help you create your entry.
Chalk Festival
In the tradition of the Italian I Madonnari artists, try your hand at creating a chalk mural on the walks outside the museum. Each autumn enjoy featured artists, and music while chalking with friends.
Winter Lights Lantern Festival
A weekend of lantern installations and lantern making and vocal and instrumental music culminates with a procession of lights, brightening winter's darkness. Scheduled late November to early December. Part of the UCI Holiday CircleFest.
Community Arts Around Town
Puppets, stilt-dancers, musicians, costumed dancers and visual
artists promote Community Arts festivals and the Cleveland Museum of
Art at selected community events throughout the area. Questions?
