Planning an Art to Go Visit
Requests for presentations must be submitted in writing by filling out a registration form, a pdf available on our website www.clevelandart.org, or by contacting Alice Barfoot in the Education scheduling department by email at abarfoot@clevelandart.org. Please include all pertinent information from the registration form including all contact information, participants grade level, and dates and times requested. While inquiries by can be made by phone at 216-707-2459, we must receive written requests to complete your registration.
Each presentation is designed to accommodate a maximum of twenty-five participants to ensure that there is enough time to handle and pass the objects within a given class period, and to ensure the safe handling of these genuine works of art. Groups of more than twenty-five participants must be divided into two separate presentations.
Please plan to set up your classroom or site to accommodate this unique opportunity. To ensure that the works of art are handled safely and passed in a timely manner in the given class period, please arrange participants in chairs, at desks or on the floor in a horseshoe shape. A table MUST be provided to support the artwork while it is not being passed, and the group leader, organizer or teacher MUST be present during the presentation. Please note that if our presenters feel that a situation has arisen that will endanger the participants or the works of art we reserve the right to terminate the presentation early without refunding the presentations cost.
Each presentation lasts approximately 40 to 60 minutes and can be scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
An evaluation form is provided at the end of each presentation. Responses help to improve the lessons and the program in general. Please take the time to complete the form and return it. Also, consider having students write letters to let us know what they learned from the presentation.
