Italian harpsichord by the American instrument builder Tony Chinnery

This Italian harpsichord was built by the English instrument builder (residing in Vicchio) Tony Chinnery in 1994. It is modeled after an instrument built by Carlo Grimaldi from 1697, which resides in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum in Nuremberg, Germany. The elaborate decoration of scrolling flowers and arabesques are exquisitely reproduced in the Museum's copy. It has a single manual transposing keyboard (A=415/440), two 8' registers and four octaves, G-D. It is dedicated in memory of performer and teacher Doris Ornstein.
