Japanese composer and sound artist Aya Nishina creates music of amazing fragility and beauty. After intensive study of the museum’s collection, Nishina was struck by a common theme—the world premiere of her “Symphonia” is a multi-movement music work inspired by the “opened-mouth creatures” she found throughout the collection. The work is for choreographed voices and mixed large ensemble.
