C&S members will head to Pittsburgh on March 8th to tour the 2013 Carnegie International. The Carnegie International is the oldest exhibition of international contemporary art in North America, and the second oldest in the world. This year, the exhibition welcomes works by 35 artists from 19 countries and is further enhanced by the reinstallation of the Carnegie Museum of Art's modern and contemporary collections.
Column & Stripe members will also have the rare opportunity to visit the home and private collection of Evan Mirapaul, founder of PGH Photo Fair & Fugitive Vision, LLC. Mirapaul collects mostly contemporary photographs created from the late 50's to the present day.
C&S members will then visit La Hütte Royal, a traditional, suburban home transformed into a permanent work of art. Commissioned by Mirapaul, the installation is made from found objects, reimagining and reconstructing the interior, while maintaining the brick home's exterior.
