Every month MIX features different art projects, demonstrations, and performances. Artists, crafters, poets, writers, and generally creative folks—got a great idea for a project? Make it hapen at MIX!

What We're Looking For:

Art @ MIX provides fun, interesting experiences that showcase the extraordinary talent here in Cleveland. We're looking for individuals and groups who want to lead interactive projects during MIX. You can make something, build something, write something—basically, get people talking, playing, and interacting with each other!

Some examples of previous projects are:

  • Riding the Zygote Press Print Pony at MIX: Americana
  • Creating mandalas with artist Meredith Hahn for MIX: Pathways
  • Making pages for Miser Magazine at MIX: Create
  • Watching a Live Art Mural come to life with the Rust Belt Monster Collective at MIX: Underneath

MIX themes, activities, and programs are inspired by our collection and exhibitions. Your project should:

  • Connect to art in the museum
  • Fit into a MIX theme

Check out our collections and upcoming special exhibitions for inspiration!

MIX takes place in the museum's atrium and galleries most of the year, so general museum rules apply. During the summer we head outside and can accommodate a wider range of ideas.

Accepted Art @ MIX projects recieve an honorarium of $200 and a budget for materials (to be determined on an individual project basis in consultation with museum staff).

Not sure if your idea will fit into an upcoming MIX? Submit anyway—we're always looking for new ideas and will keep your porposal on file for a year. Fill out the form below to apply.

Questions? Send them to mix [at] clevelandart.org.
