For six weeks prior to Parade the Circle, participants create their own costumes, masks, and giant puppets at Cleveland Museum of Art public workshops or their own locations. No written words, logos, motorized vehicles (except wheelchairs), or live animals; entries should not propagandize a particular political or religious belief.
2017 Public Workshops
Create your parade entry at public workshops at the museum. A workshop pass (individuals $75; families/organizations $200 up to 4 people, $50 each additional person) entitles you to attend all workshops. Workshops are open to all ages; children under 15 must register and attend with someone older. Registration fees include parade entry fee. Group rates and scholarship assistance are available.
Artists assist participants in making masks, costumes, and giant puppets using papier-mâché, cloth, and recycled materials. Public workshops begin in April:
All workshops are held in the Parade Tent (former CIA parking lot, corner of East Blvd and Wade Oval Dr).
To be listed in the printed program, register by Sunday, May 21, 2017. Parade participation is open to anyone, but registration is required. Register for all workshops or the parade during any public workshop. For questions, call Community Arts at 216-707-2483 or e-mail commartsinfo [at] clevelandart.org.
