Salar System is an extraordinary ensemble of internationally recognized musicians of Central Asian heritage, consisting of Tabla, Afghan Dhol, Dholak, Rubab, Doyra, vocals, and electronics. Combining melody, rhythm, poetry, and dance, Salar System tracks an evocative journey of cross-cultural communication & exchange. Salar Nader, Qais Essar, Ajmal Subat and Sekander Seraj, rooted to their traditions from their home countries, while at the same time bringing them right up to present day, effortlessly interweave & embody their craft, evoking the wonders of this beautiful and complex region.

Salar System take that transcendental voyage of diverse cultural influences—a musical caravan through the depths of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and North India—with an electronic element which keeps the integrity of the traditions. This reflective musical sojourn will conjure magical images to one of the most enchanting and majestic regions of the world.
