One of Catalonia's leading modernista ceramists, Serra founded the Porcelain and Artistic Tile Manufactory in 1904. He received numerous international awards for his exquisite ceramics, such as this porcelain vase decorated with gold floral motifs.

Serra frequently collaborated with other artists, including Gaspar Homar.
