About the Exhibition

This exhibition represents the "cream" of the holdings of the most comprehensive and richest collection of Indian jeweled arts in the world, The al-Sabah Collection, at the Kuwait National Museum.

The formation of this treasury, part of a world-class Islamic art collection, has been one of Sheikh Nasser's most persistent preoccupations over the past quarter-century. He is a pioneer in this field. His eye for beauty, quality, and a complex range of features, his prodigious memory and his sense of what is important are astounding.

Although some of the pieces in The al-Sabah Collection are celebrated and have been included in important exhibitions and publications, many of these objects have never been seen by the public. The collection includes scores of treasures of the history of jewelry.
