Herbert Ascherman Jr.
A fourth-generation Clevelander, Herbert Ascherman Jr. has been a professional photographer since 1975. In 1977 he founded the Ascherman Gallery/The Cleveland Photographic Workshop, one of two such nonprofit spaces in Ohio. He has won many awards and given lectures across the country. His exhibitions include solo shows in Paris, Tokyo, and New York, and he is represented in the collections of the Bibliothèque Nationale and Musée de Ville de Paris, the National Portrait Gallery in London, and the Cleveland Museum of Art. Ascherman received his BA in English literature from the University of Hartford in Connecticut.
