Christopher James Cary

Born in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Christopher James Cary studied art at Ohio University in Athens and was trained as an aerial photographer in the Coast Guard. Inspired by the writing of St. Exupéry, he became a professional pilot and studied Buddhism in Japan and art at the Art Students League of New York. Since returning to Ohio he has worked on projects grounded in studies of indigenous and shamanistic art. Cary won an special mention in a Cleveland Museum of Art May Show.
