FitzGerald is organizing curator of the exhibition Picasso: The Artist's Studio and author of its catalogue.Nov. 9, 6:30 p.m., Picasso: A Personal View, Rosamond Bernier. Bernier has lectured widely at museums in this country and abroad, and her journalistic and personal relationships with artists such as Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, and Henri Matisse provide insightful portraits of their lives and work. This presentation introduces the Cleveland audiences to the artistic genius behind the works in the special exhibition Picasso: The Artist's Studio. Treuhaft Professor of Humanities and French, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland. Lathers is a widely published, distinguished scholar of modern French culture, especially gender relationships between artists and models. Dec. 9, 2 p.m., The Sum of Destructions: Picasso's Cultures and the Creation of Cubism, Natasha Staller, Assistant Professor, Department of Fine Arts, Amherst College, Amherst, Mass. Staller is one of the most significant members of the new generation of Picasso scholars, author of the groundbreaking book The Sum of Destructions (forthcoming this fall from Yale University Press, London), a provocative study of relationships between Picasso's early life in Spain and the creation of Cubism.
