April 26, 2003 - July 2, 2003,

As a prelude and complement to The History of Japanese Art Photography, 1854-2000, this artist’s conceptual works will be featured in a solo show of about 20 black-and-white photographs. Moving about with either a penlight or a mirror that reflects light into his camera lens during long timed exposures, Sato (b. 1957) inserts points or tracery of light into urban, domestic, and natural scenes, infusing them with a sense of energy and mystery.
