Currently Under Curation: A Teen Museum Fellowship
What is Currently Under Curation?
Currently Under Curation welcomes students from various Cleveland High Schools to the resources and opportunities available at the Cleveland Museum of Art, in partnership with the Cleveland Public Library. Each cohort will curate an exhibition culminating in shows at local library branches. Students will engage in activities that introduce them to all aspects of roles in the museum world, building skills in teamwork, planning, writing, research, design, leadership, creative problem-solving, and communications.
What makes for an ideal candidate for Currently Under Curation?
The ideal candidate is curious, a visual learner, and loves to read, write, and learn. The ideal student will work as part of a team on a creative adventure, accomplish individual tasks, and be reliable.

Ascension, Depression, Progression

This is the inaugural exhibition presented by the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Currently Under Curation, a program in which Cleveland teens work with museum staff and lead all aspects of exhibition design and implementation. Ascension, Depression, Progression draws from the Cleveland Public Library’s collection of 1930s WPA/FAP works with “American Scene” subject matter and is reimagined by the teens with a new narrative.
