Pattern, the repetition of any element – line, shape, or color, for example – in a design, is often referred to as a “motif.” This presentation examines objects crafted in a variety of materials, by different people representing various cultures and time periods, with rich motifs as diverse as diamonds, flowers, butterflies, birds, clouds, and mountains.
