Administrative Assiantant
The museum’s Development department seeks qualified candidates for an Adminstrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant provides secretarial and administrative support for the Director of Development and serves as the principal liaison between the Development department and the museum’s staff and external constituencies. This individual must be capable of handling a broad range of tasks effectively, work confidentially with sensitive information, and represent the museum at all times with tact and diplomacy. Typical duties include managing all correspondence, incoming and outgoing, and the flow of administrative paperwork to and from the Director of Development’s office; has primary responsibility for managing the Director of Development’s schedule including making travel arrangements; maintains administrative files and prepares materials and supporting documentation for all meetings; and answers phones, faxes, e-mails, etc. and solicits responses or an appropriate action when necessary.
Qualified candidates will have an Associate’s degree with three to five years of administrative assistance experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills and experience working with trustees and executive management as well as the ability to work across museum departments is required. Familiarity with development systems and processes and prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite is also required. Knowledge and experience in fund-raising for non-profit organizations preferred.
