The museum’s Development department seeks qualified candidates for its Director of Principal Gifts position. The Director of Principal Gifts envisions and implements a programmatic approach to principal giving, strategically engaging, soliciting and stewarding the museum’s most highly rated prospects. Leading a motivated team of major gift and engagement officers, the Director of Principal Gifts responds to all principal giving inquires, stewards donors and arranges special engagement opportunities for current and prospective donors, and educates museum staff and volunteers on the museum’s principal giving program.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of demonstrated consistent closing of five- and six-figure gifts. An advanced degree or CFRE designation is preferred. Candidates must also demonstrate prolific results in meeting/exceeding established goals, have the ability and energy to manage and bring new ideas to a robust fundraising program, as well as maintain a portfolio of high level prospects with a high degree of results.
