Shack with Path
1944
Location: not on view
Description
Paul Remmey worked in and around Philadelphia and was particularly drawn to the farmland outside the city. Shack with Path is from a series of rural buildings in which Remmey captured the melancholy of abandoned farms and a bygone rural age. Technically refined, the watercolor follows Remmey’s insistence on simplicity and structural clarity, executed with broad washes in a subdued palette.- {{cite web|title=Shack with Path|url=false|author=Paul Remmey|year=1944|access-date=24 April 2024|publisher=Cleveland Museum of Art}}
