Description

Paul Remmey worked in and around Philadelphia and was particularly drawn to the farmland outside the city. Shack with Path is from a series of rural buildings in which Remmey captured the melancholy of abandoned farms and a bygone rural age. Technically refined, the watercolor follows Remmey’s insistence on simplicity and structural clarity, executed with broad washes in a subdued palette.
