Connecting with Caporali showcases work by artists from five area colleges and universities created in response to the themes and objects in the CMA exhibition The Caporali Missal: A Masterpiece of Renaissance Illumination  [1](February 17–June 2, 2013).

Artists responded to The Caporali Missal exhibition with a wide variety of artistic media and themes, including spirituality as a contemplation of nature; explorations of religious practices worldwide; the intersection of technology and religion; and consumerism as a parallel between religious worship and our contemporary reverence for material goods.

The artwork in Connecting with Caporali creates many cultural bridges between the early Renaissance and today and invites visitors to form their own connections with the Caporali Missal, a richly decorated liturgical manuscript from 15th-century Italy.
