Access to Library Materials

All library materials, except those in the reference collection, are housed in closed stacks and must be requested for retrieval at the circulation desk for use in the reading room. Materials are retrieved from the library stacks at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.

On Wednesdays during the academic year, we will also retrieve books at 6:00 p.m. No books will be paged after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Materials from the Ingalls Library’s Rare Book Collection will be retrieved between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Tuesday through Friday.

Museum Archives Hours

Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Appointment recommended.

Access to Archival Materials

Archives is open to museum staff and registered researchers by appointment only.

Archival materials may be used in the Ingalls Library reference area at the following times: Tuesday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.–noon, and 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m.
