Gather round while we tell some spine-chilling Cleveland Museum of Art ghost stories sure to get you in the spooky spirit. These stories are collected by Carolyn Ivanye, protection services operation manager, who keeps a record of mysterious events that occur in the museum. Come in closer, grab hold of a loved one and don’t look behind you!
Four local artists, along with members of neighborhoods bordering the museum: Fairfax; Glenville; Hough and East Cleveland have taken part in designing and creating vibrant community murals. At this year’s 21st annual Cleveland Museum of Art’s I Madonnari Chalk Festival, the mural artists and community volunteers had a chance to draft large-scale cartoons of their mural designs. Take a moment or two to view this video recorded at the Chalk Festival and listen to why the artists wanted to be a part of this unique community project.
Calling all fashionable Clevelanders! (I’m talking to you!) Do you want the chance to pick up hot, new clothing and accessories while supporting the museum? On October 17, the Textile Art Alliance (TAA), an affiliate group of the museum, will hold its seventh annual fashion show and boutique. This is a totally unique fashion event in Cleveland since the runway show features artist designed and hand-crafted wearable art for day and evening.
