The Casting by Omer Fast is  contemporary video art that features narratives about love and war while grappling with questions of memory and recollection. In this dialogue, Paola Morsiani, curator of contemporary art, shares her thoughts about this artwork which is currently on view at the museum. The Casting was acquired by the museum in 2008.

Cleveland Museum of Art regulars should recognize the name Mark Reigelmän. The New York-based (and Cleveland-bred) artist created the memorable Wood-Pile piece at last year’s Summer Solstice celebration. Reigelmän returns as the mastermind behind this year’s Solstice installation in collaboration with Cleveland Public Art (CPA).

So what exactly should Solstice party-goers look for on Saturday? That’s our little secret! Trust us, you’ll know it when you see it.

Teachers!  Learn how you can reach out to your students using art and story telling.

Northeast Ohio early childhood educators can help their students grow up great through the art of story telling in pictures, song, rhythm and acting by participating in Picture This: Story Telling and the Arts, a mini-conference at the Cleveland Museum of Art from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 1.
