As they prepare for the Cleveland Museum of Art’s 2011 Parade the Circle, six guest artists sprawl their talents out across the large outdoor tent, combining sculpture, painting, scenic design, construction, and clothing design to collaborate on the three giant puppets that will tell the Hindu myth of Shakuntala, the love story of a cursed princess.

If you’ve been reading about our annual Parade the Circle event this year, you may know a little about our guests, La Troupe des Masques de Boni. These artists, musicians, and dancers are from Burkina Faso, on the southern edge of the Sahara Desert in Africa.
Since May 27, we’ve been hosting artists from Boni, Burkina Faso. The artists will headline the 21st annual Parade the Circle event on Saturday, June 12, and be featured in the Going Global Family Day to open our newest galleries on Sunday, June 27.
