Youth and Beauty: African Americans As Subject Matter
Building on Artistic Legacy
Building on Artistic Legacy
The museum recently opened an exhibition viewing selected works by John Taylor Arms (1887–1953), one of the most important American printmakers of the first half of the 20th century.
John Bonebrake was a beloved member of the museum’s affiliate group, The Print Club of Cleveland for 40 years. Through his Print Club experience, he had amassed more than 1,000 prints, which he both gifted and bequeathed to the museum upon his death in April 2011.
If the one constant in life is change it certainly holds true that at the Cleveland Museum of Art there is always something new to see, particularly now during the exciting expansion project. One of the museum’s goals is to create exhibitions and collections that are relevant and inspirational to its patrons and to do so in a way that makes each visit to the museum fresh and vibrant.
