Recap: Museum Ambassadors Community Day

Each spring, high school students from the Museum Ambassadors program facilitate a Family and Community Day for the public. Hailing from all corners of the Cleveland area, these 10th-12th graders create projects summarizing their experiences at the museum during the past school year. Prior to the April 29th Community Day, students met with museum staff, planned an activity for visitors, and marketed the event in their schools and communities. This year more than 800 visitors participated.

Museum to Host Symposium on China, Ohio and the New Global Economy

The museum will host an innovative dialogue on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 to explore how Cleveland can benefit from China’s emergence as one of the world’s leading economies. A distinguished panel of regional and national business, academic, journalism, and government leaders whose organizations have significant ties with China will offer insights for The Art of Reinvention: China, Ohio, and the New Global Economy.

The Wedding Picture Project

By Helen Cherry Guest Blogger What is the most important decision to be made when taking your wedding photos? “Location, Location, Location!” and the south terraces of the Cleveland Museum of Art as well as city’s adjacent Fine Arts Garden seem to be the location of choice for hundreds if not thousands of brides and grooms since the museum’s opening in 1916. In spring, summer and fall on any given Saturday or Sunday, cars and limousines will pull up on East Boulevard with bridal parties tumbling out to take pictures in these beautiful spots.
